A collection of Tokyo storefronts inspired from photos I've collected of Tokyo's changing landscape since 2016 on my instagram channel of the same name re-imagined with cats.
All of these storefronts are based on real shops across Tokyo. Some have been renovated to feel more "modern" and others have been torn down and replaced. I've enjoyed sharing these and sparking conversation with friends and fellow Tokyo lovers about how Tokyo's saikaihatsu or reconstruction efforts to become a more global city has come at the cost of tearing down some of it's most charming mom and pop shops.

Printed at Nakano Letterpress on Risograph.
These were exhibited at Pintology from May to June 2023.
Inspiration

I love walking around Tokyo and taking photos of every day scenes.
I'll take a break at a kissa cafe to go through what caught my eye and do a quick sketch with a fountain pen. Walks and sketches also help spark ideas on what elements I want to include both in the stores and surrounding environments.
